Still looking for answers?

Freeride courses are designed for confident skiers or snowboarders who are comfortable on red and black runs. Deep snow requires a different technique than riding on groomed slopes. If you are unsure, we will be happy to advise you before booking.

Our private courses are suitable for:

  • Freeride beginners
  • Advanced freeriders
  • Powder lovers
  • Ski tourers who want to improve their downhill technique
  • Families or groups of friends with similar riding abilities

Since it is private instruction, we adapt the course completely to your skills and goals.

No. If you do not own suitable equipment, you can rent freeride skis or snowboards as well as safety equipment in the local sports shops. We will be happy to advise you on which equipment is best suited for the current conditions.

Depending on the course, avalanche safety equipment is required. For riding outside of secured ski areas, an avalanche transceiver, probe, and shovel are part of the standard equipment. You can conveniently rent the equipment from us, provided it is still available. We are happy to assist you with the organization. If you have your own equipment, please check before the start of the course whether it is complete and functional.

Yes, sometimes it depends on the current conditions. Safety is always our top priority. Depending on the snow situation, avalanche risk, and weather, our freeride guides select the appropriate terrain. In unfavorable conditions, lessons can also take place on secured variants or on-piste.

Yes. Upon request, we will show you how to correctly handle an avalanche transceiver, probe, and shovel, as well as important basics of avalanche science. The goal is to sustainably improve your safety in open terrain. There is also the possibility to book separate safety training; you are welcome to contact us for more information.

Depending on your skill level, we cover topics including:

  • Deep snow technique
  • Line selection
  • Terrain analysis
  • Snow and avalanche science
  • Safe riding technique
  • Behavior in alpine terrain
  • Tactics and route selection
  • Efficient riding style in powder

Depending on the booking, our private courses take place on the Hintertux Glacier, at Eggalm, or at Rastkogel. Depending on snow and weather conditions, we will select the appropriate ski area and the most beautiful runs together with you, taking your wishes and riding ability into account.

Yes. Private lessons can be booked by individuals, couples, families, or small groups. The only requirement is a similar level of ability so that everyone benefits optimally from the instruction.

Lessons generally take place in all weather conditions. If safety cannot be guaranteed due to high avalanche danger or other safety-related events, the lesson will be moved to another day or to a different ski area.

No. For private lessons, you need a valid ski pass.

Yes. Our private freeride courses are offered for both skiers and snowboarders.

Thanks to the high altitude of up to 3,250 meters, the Hintertux Glacier in particular offers excellent conditions over an exceptionally long season. However, the best powder conditions always depend on the weather and fresh snow.

A private course helps you progress much faster. You receive individual technique training, learn to assess terrain correctly, avoid typical mistakes, and benefit from the local knowledge of experienced freeride guides. This not only ensures more safety but also significantly more riding fun.

Since our freeride courses depend on current snow, weather, and safety conditions, final planning only takes place shortly before the course begins. We can often judge whether conditions allow for a safe course as early as the day before. Therefore, we ask you to contact our office the day before. We will then discuss the final meeting point, start time, and all other important information regarding your freeride course.
